A MAN has been charged with murder over the alleged fatal
stabbing of a French tourist in the Northern Territory.
Pande
Veleski was taken into custody on Thursday after the stabbing death of
33-year-old Frenchman Philippe Jegouzo the previous afternoon.
The
charges come almost three days after the alleged stabbing.
Currently
under police guard in Alice Springs hospital where he is being treated for
dehydration, a Northern Territory police spokesperson said Mr Veleski will face
Alice Springs Local Court on Monday.
“The
victim’s partner would like to thank the Alice Springs community for their
support,” the police statement said.
